Pruning and Trimming
We prune and trim trees according to the ANSI A300 standards. We have the necessary training and equipment to reach even the highest branches in a tree canopy by climbing with safety harnesses or using a bucket truck.
Regular tree pruning and trimming are essential to keeping a tree healthy and ensuring that the growth pattern of the tree offers stability in the branch structure. We want to prevent trees from interfering with power lines, nearby buildings, or walkways. We also want to ensure the tree doesn’t drop branches or fronds that could hurt someone or cause property damage.
To protect property and people nearby, we offer several types of pruning and trimming, including:
- Crown cleaning
- Crown raising
- Crown reduction
- Crown thinning
- Structural pruning
There are four key reasons to prune a tree. Contact us to trim or prune your trees if you want to improve the shape or structure of the tree, change the tree’s appearance, change fruit and flower production, or improve the tree’s health.
Palm trees require different levels of attention depending on the species. Native cabbage palms drop dead fronds and rarely require palm pruning. However, some species of palm trees don’t drop their fronds, making it necessary to remove the brown, drooping fronds while leaving the healthy green growth alone.
You may also require tree services to remove palm fruits, such as the abundant fruit from a queen palm or coconuts from your coconut palms. Palm fruits range from messy nuisance to dangerous if they fall from a tree and land on a person, car, or structure.
Tree Removal and Stump Grinding
Although we will try our best to save an unhealthy tree and bring it back to its true beauty and vitality, sometimes trees require removal. Common reasons to remove trees include:
- The tree is dead or dying and poses a safety risk
- The tree is too close to power lines, your home, or another structure
- The tree is in a crowded grove, and one or more trees require removal for the other trees to flourish
- The tree has overgrown the size of the property
- The tree blocks walkways, roads, or driveways
- The tree is in the way of planned construction
We offer stump grinding as an add-on service for tree removal. Stumps can be unsafe and ugly, leading to tree regrowth or pest infestation. You can also damage yard equipment on a stump left behind.
tree health management
We offer tree health management plans that include insect control for trees, shrubs, and landscape plants, as well as tree and shrub disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. We start with a site inspection of all your trees by one of our five certified arborists. We then develop a plan for each of the trees on your property.
We offer semi-annual fertilization applications with spot treatments as needed. We also offer soil amendments to improve the nutrition and texture of your soil.
Insect and Disease Treatment
We specialize in targeted applications of pesticides and fungicides to only affect the species we want instead of harming beneficial species. We also offer synthetic, natural, and organic treatments to reduce negative chemical effects on the land and nearby waterways.
Installation and Transplanting
We use a simple 4-step process for tree transplanting or new tree installation. Our process includes:
- Site Survey
- Tree Selection
- Ongoing Maintenance
We begin by assessing the location where you want to plant or move a tree. If you need help choosing what kind of tree to plant, we can help you make your selection. We then perform the tree planting following ISA recommendations and ANSI A300 planting standards. We follow up with maintenance to ensure the tree settles into its new environment.
Tree Safety and Storm Preparation
As hurricane season begins, you want your trees to be ready to withstand high winds and heavy rains. We can inspect your trees for tree safety risks and take corrective action with structural pruning or cabling and bracing. Remember that you can’t trim trees too soon before a storm. Tree waste removal trucks may not pick up tree trimmings in time before we begin feeling the effects of a storm.
